When my wife and I are with our goats and sheep and they get frightened by something, they will all run to us and stay close by our sides until they realize there is no threat.

As a shepherd, this behavior of our goats and sheep brings me joy.
I love that our goats and sheep see us as a safe place to be in times of danger or perceived threat.
As I read through the Psalms, there are so many references to God as our refuge, fortress, stronghold, rock, etc...
Just like our sheep and goats run to us as their refuge, shield, and safe place, I need to constantly be looking to God as my refuge, my rock, and my safe place.
God is our strength and help in times of trouble.
He is my safe place.
So no matter what we go through in life, God is with us and we can continually run to him and find refuge from all that we face in this life.
