Hi friend!!!!
I'm so excited you're (still) here!
Long story short…a good old while back (June 6th, to be exact), was the LAST time that I wrote you a newsletter update.
Yes… that was over 6 months ago 🫣
You know how sometimes time gets away from you?
I mean summer is busy for everyone, right?
If you’re not a farmer dealing with baby calves, hay season, and just dealing with the dreadful heat and humidity - then you’re probably more focused on fun things like weddings and camps and summer vacations.
But then before we know it, school starts and the trees are changing to all the different colors and you’re just caught up and fascinated with God’s creation.
Next thing you know, we’re all getting plans together to celebrate Thanksgiving with loved ones. Such a wonderful time of year!!
Then shortly after that as the wind begins to chill a bit more, we’ve got to put out all of our heated water buckets for the animals, and soon enough - even having to put hand warmers in our gloves to even go outside for 5 minutes.
And so here we are - it’s officially the week before Christmas and I’m finally able to sit down and say hi again 👋
So, with that out of the way... hey!
I'm Lorraine (“Lo” if you’re into shortening names, like me).
My husband Jeffrey and I are 5 year old farmers struggling to hold full time life-ing and full time farm-ing together... hence no updates for so long.
We live in Lincoln, NE with our (as of today) 21 goats, 14 sheep, 7 cows, 30ish chickens and 2 farm cats... see pics 👇
And I'm just going to say it here & state the unavoidable obvious: this newsletter will be irregular.
I’ve realized now that I am not an every-Thursday kind of girl (no matter how hard I try to be!).
Although I would love to keep a steady weekly rhythms for our updates, I cannot promise when they will arrive; just that they’ll arrive when we’ve got something to share with you (and the time to share it!).
Next time, I'll pop in to start back up with a proper farm update.
I hope you enjoyed reading & would love to hear more about how you have been doing as well.
Lo
